THE ARROGANCE OF PERSONAL INFALLIBILITY

CULT OF PERSONALITY CONSUMING BAHA'IS
BELIEVERS HAMSTRUNG BY MISPLACED LOYALTY

There seems to be an inability on the part of the Baha'is to discern between the Universal House of Justice, which claims it is infallible, and the believers, who have been led by certain of their administrators to believe that infallibility is theirs by association. That is, a Local Spiritual Assembly member upholds his or her claim to infallibility by saying that the LSA is in fact an extension of the Universal House of Justice! Auxiliary Board Members and their Assistants assume powers of the Guardianship and the National Spiritual Assembly, and their arrogant claims go unchallenged.

Why? EFNS believes there are two reasons. First, the rank and file have refused to take seriously the House's injunction to Study the Writings every day whenever possible. What is its purpose? To protect the believers! To enable the friends to arm themselves with the best and only possible defense against the forces of materialism, atheism, etc. that come against them every hour of every day. It appears that, sadly, most Baha'is do not study the Writings. They are ignorant of the statements and opinions of The Master, The Guardian, and the House. There is no excuse!

The results of this slovenly behavior are: the public views the Faith as a cult, a foreign organization unfriendly to American government, ignorant of yet opposed to Christianity, and ignorant of its own revealed Word of God. The believer is left with nothing with which to teach his Faith and nothing to with which to defend himself or his Faith against its enemies.

Who, we ask the Baha'is, are their enemies? The Writings give the answer, and we dare the reader to download the free "Ocean"or "Immerse" Baha'i search engines. Any topic they care to study can be brought up with a hundred quotations from the Writings. With the Writings in front of them they can easily discern divine truth from human opinion. This does not happen without study.

THE IMPLIED POSSESSION OF INFALLIBILITY BY OFFICE HOLDERS, AND
THE ACCEPTANCE OF THEIR CLAIM TO INFALLIBILITY BY THE BELIEVERS.

How often has a Baha'i heard:
"She couldn't have lied - she's a Baha'i!"
"She couldn't have taken that money - she's a Baha'i"
"He couldn't have molested that child - he's a Baha'i!"
"He couldn't have murdered his wife - they're Baha'is!"

The more certain administrators succeed in giving the impression that they are infallible, the more the other Baha'is will believe them. Some elected and some appointed Baha'is have behaved and continue to behave as if rules do not apply to them. Backbiting, gossip, slander, denial of due process, lying, railroading, spying, and more, are actions taken by some Baha'i administrators to protect their own interests, including protection of the assumption that they are infallible.

If the institutions were teaching that no institution below the level of the House, and absolutely no living individual, were infallible, the troops would be here. People would be tearing the doors down. They are not enthusiastic to investigate or join the Baha'i Faith; they are sensitive to religions and organizations whose leaders convey the desire to dominate them. We can imagine, for example, tens of thousands of people of the kind who love and gain inspiration from Country Music turning their backs absolutely on the Faith. They are passionate, Christian people with a clear moral sense that is not far off from that of the Baha'i Teachings, but they will not submit to an organization that looks down on them for their education, their religion, their ethic, and their heart. They will not adhere to a teaching that is given by individuals who clearly wish to forget they exist. They will actively avoid any religion whose leaders claim to be infallible.

If the much-spoken desire of the American Baha'i community and its institutions is to promote entry by troops, then let them promote the exit from positions in administration of Baha'is whose aim and methods speak with utter clarity: violation.

As long as an ordinary, innocent Baha'i can be pilloried behind her back by the Auxiliary Board, the National Spiritual Assembly and her community, for asking an Assistant ABM to investigate a case of violation, no Baha'i is safe, and no Baha'i will be both willing or able to stand up against any violator whose institution protects him from exposure.

Doesn't sound like a religion I'd want to join.
